Do you have an interest in the natural resources of our state? Are you eager to learn about these resources and share your knowledge with others? The OCVN program is designed to teach participants about the natural world through science-based education, both in the classroom and in the field. This training, coupled with community-based volunteer service will enable participants to become certified as volunteer naturalists.
Specific program dates for 2014 are as follows: Overnight kick-off is April 4 from 3:30 pm through April 5 at 4:00 pm. Classes will then take place from approximately 9:00 am - 3:30 pm on Saturday, April 12; Friday, April 25; Saturday, May 3; Friday, May 9; Saturday, May 17; and Friday, May 23.
There is a $250 fee for participation and payment is due upon acceptance into the program. Applications will be accepted on or after January 23, 2014 until all spaces are full. Participants should plan to attend all class sessions in order to meet certification requirements.
