What ages do you include?
Day Camps accept children from ages 6 to 11.
For the residential camps, it depends on the camp.  Our youngest campers are entering the 4th grade and our oldest campers are entering the 11th grade. Please check grade level requirements on specific camps.

Are you accredited? What does that mean?
The Conservancy summer camps are proud to be accredited by the American Camp Association. Our accreditation means we meet or exceed our industry's own tough standards for safety, health, staff training and program quality. Our compliance with all 300-plus measures assures you of our commitment to you and your child. Learn more about the American Camp Association by visiting their website www.acacamps.org. 

How much does it cost?
Our residential camps cost $425 per camper, but discounts apply for Conservancy members, returning campers who bring a new camper, and those who register early. 

Day camp fees are $200/camper. We also offer before-care and after-care for the second week only and the additional fee is $25 for each option.  Before-care is from 7:30 - 9 am and after-care is from 3 - 5 pm.  There is no after-care available on Friday as parents are encouraged to attend the badge ceremony.

How do I register my child?

What happens when the weather is bad?
Unfortunately, the weather cannot always be sunny at camp, but we promise campers will always be safe and have a good time. If there is light rain, we will still have campers out and about. Please send your camper ready to take on the elements. In more severe weather, we will move campers to an indoor location.

What are your staff’s qualifications?
Staff must be at least 18 years old, and have completed at least one year of college or have equivalent experience. All counselors are thoroughly screened, including criminal background checks, fingerprint checks and reference checks, as well as a personal interview.  First Aid and CPR certification are also required for all counselors.  Staff must also complete a week long intense training and orientation.

What is the staff/camper ratio?
Low camper-to-counselor ratios promote a safe atmosphere in which teamwork and individual expression flourish. We follow ACA guidelines of 8:1 ratios for residential camp and 10:1 ratios for day camps. Campers will never be without adult supervision in any situation.

Where do the kids stay during residential camp?
Campers and staff stay in Lipscomb and White Pines campuses at the Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center. Both campuses offer dormitory-style living. Multiple rooms accommodate up to 64 campers - two to eight bunk beds per room - and offer separate boy's and girl's bath and shower facilities. Campers are assigned rooms by sex and age. There are 1-2 staff members in each room for supervision.

What meals do you provide during the day?
Residential campers will receive breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as two snacks per day. Day campers will receive lunch as well as a morning and afternoon snack.

Is there a trained medical professional on site?
Residential camp sessions are staffed by a summer camp nurse, available 24 hours a day. All day camp and residential staff are First-Aid and CPR certified.

What kind of activities will my child do at camp?
Every day is very different for campers. Activities will vary depending on the camp program your child is attending. Check out the web pages for residential and day camps which provide further details about camp activities and schedules.

May my child and I visit camp to see if we like it?
Absolutely! We offer a camp open house at our residential facility, the Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center each spring. Families can tour the facility and ask questions about overnight camp.
