RUNNING TRAIL GUIDE

Before you head out for a run in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, look at a map and know your route so you don't get lost. Bring a water bottle if you're planning a longer run, and if you're going at night, bring a headlamp. 

During your run, watch out for roots, rocks, fallen branches, and other things you could trip on. Use caution on stream crossings. And keep your eyes open for wildlife: you might spot an otter playing nearby, or an eagle soaring overhead.

Be sure to stop by Trail Mix in Peninsula or Boston Township after your run for water and a snack.

Lake Trail A flat 1-mile with lots of beautiful views.  MAP 
Oak Hill Trail  This 1.8-mile loop will take you right by Sylvan Pond.  MAP 
Pine Grove Trail  A scenic, flat 1.8-mile trail near the Ledges.  MAP
Towpath Trail  19.5 miles of the historic Towpath Trail pass through CVNP. MAP 


Moderate

   
Boston Run Trail  This winding 3.1-mile trail starts at Happy Days Lodge. MAP 
Cross Country Trail  You'll find some good hills on this 2.5-mile trail. MAP
Ledges Trail  This trail is less than two miles, but the footing is rocky and technical. MAP 
Perkins Trail * Be prepared for stream crossings and wet conditions on this 2.75-mile trail. MAP

Buckeye Trail
Over 30 miles of the Buckeye Trail run through CVNP. The 12-mile stretch between Station Road Bridge and Boston is especially challenging. MAP
Plateau Trail
You'll cross lots of bridges on this hilly, challenging 5-mile trail. MAP
Salt Run Trail Be prepared for several big hills on this 3.3-mile loop. MAP
Wetmore Trail *
This 4.5-mile trail connects to several others if you're looking for a longer run. MAP


*Please note that this is a bridle trail. Be respectful of horses you may meet out on the trail.
