Animal Instinct: An Exhibition of Paintings by Betsy Somershield

Peninsula, Ohio - Cuyahoga Valley National Park Association (CVNPA) invites you to an opening reception of Betsy Somershield’s “Animal Instinct” held on Sunday, September 7, 2008 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the John F. Seiberling Gallery, located in the CVNPA Hines Hill Administration Offices at 1403 Hine Hill Road in Peninsula.

Ms. Somershield is a self-taught artist who has been a student at the Cleveland Institute of Art and the Orange Art Center. Her work has been exhibited throughout country and northeast Ohio region, including the Chagrin Fall Art Walk and the Gates Mills Art Show. “Animal Instinct” consists of 27 brightly painted acrylic on canvas paintings.

“The antics, loyalties, and quiet wisdom of animals have been a constant source of inspiration for me,” commented Ms. Somershield. “I hope you enjoy these paintings as much as I have in creating them, and that you walk away with a smile.”
