Peninsula, Ohio - Cuyahoga Valley National Park Association (CVNPA) dares you to the take the Cuyahoga Challenge.
The Cuyahoga Challenge is a free program presented by CVNPA and Cuyahoga Valley National Park that challenges you to hike 10 of our designated trails. This program is presented free to all visitors thanks to the generous support of our sponsor, North Akron Savings Bank. This hiking series is a great way to discover the beauty the park has to offer and to stay healthy and fit this summer. So, please invite your friends and family to take part in this free activity with you! Participants who hike ten or more of the designated trails receive a commemorative patch designed by a local artist, Chuck Ayers.
The trails range from easy to difficult. Participants may hike the selected trails on his or her own or may attend ranger-led programs on qualifying trails. To qualify, trail segments must be hiked between June 1, 2008 and September 30, 2008.
You may pick up an entry form at any of the parks visitor centers or download an entry form at www.cvnpa.org. More detailed information on the trails or about the Cuyahoga Challenge can be found on the entry form.
Go to Trail Mix, the snack shop located across the street from the Boston Store Visitor Center, to pick up your commemorative patch after you complete the Challenge. Patches will not be available at other visitor centers in the park this year.
