Cuyahoga Valley National Park Association is pleased to announce that Bridget Garvin, formerly executive director of Cascade Locks Park Association, has been hired as Director of Volunteer Programs. Bridget is the first person to hold this newly established position that will work alongside the National Park Service to oversee and manage the park’s and CVNPA’s volunteer corps of over 2,000 people.

"Bridget has great experience in successfully developing volunteer programs,” commented Deb Yandala, Chief Executive Officer. “ Our volunteer program is one of the largest in the country and we look forward to reaching out to more citizens in Northeast Ohio with opportunities to engage in our national park.  Bridget's passion for the park will be inspiring to others and we look forward to the development of new volunteer activities and programs in the park."

Bridget graduated with a Master of Arts in Environmental Studies from the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University and was the first to graduate with this degree.  During her time at CSU, Bridget served as a graduate assistant, an intern with the National Park Service and a research consultant on state brownfield programs.  Bridget is a member of Leadership Akron, Class XXIV. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Akron, serving on the Chili Open Committee, and the membership committee, and is on the Board of Directors for the Rotary Camp.
