Cuyahoga Valley National Park Association is pleased to announce the opening of the photographic exhibit “In the Wild” which will display works by Bob Downing. The show opens on December 5, 2008 and runs through January 15, 2009 at the Seiberling Gallery located in the administrative offices at 1403 W. Hines Hill Road Peninsula, OH. There will be an artist reception on December 5, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Bob Downing has been writing and taking pictures for an outdoor oriented travel column, “In the Wild”, for more than 10 years which appears in the Akron Beacon Journal.
“The travel column has taken me from California and British Columbia to Maine and Florida and the Caribbean. I have been to 37 states in search of interesting and special places to visit, photograph, and write about.”
Bob Downing’s work of “In the Wild” has proven to be a photographic adventure that will make anyone envious with just the blink of an eye.
“I have hiked Isle Royale, paddled the New and the Gauley, pedaled the Tsali bike trails, hiked the rain forest of St. Lucia, snorkeled at Curacao and St. John and pedaled the Great Allegheny Passage rail-trail. I have hiked to the top of Mount LeConte and pedaled the Virginia Creeper rail-trail, hiked to arches in Kentucky’s Red River Gorge and explored glaciers in the Canadian Rockies.”
