SUMMARY:Nature Rx | Mindful Photography (New location: Oxbow Meadows Project Site)
DESCRIPTION:Important note: Originally\, this event was going to be located at the Ledges. Due to the ongoing federal government shutdown\, the event has been moved to the Oxbow Meadows Project site. \nThe location change is now reflected in the description below. \n__________________________________________ \n  \nSpend a fall morning amongst the turning leaves at the Oxbow Meadows Project Site learning mindful photography with Christine Baker. The Look Again mindful photography method is a simple\, low-tech approach that weaves photography\, mindfulness\, and connection with nature. \nDuring the event\, we’ll use our cell phone cameras to create photos of the colors\, shapes\, textures\, and ordinary moments nature shares with us that we often overlook. Exploring the world this way invites us to relax\, reframe\, and nurture our well-being. What will we see when we slow down\, look\, and look again at the natural world around us? \nNo previous photography experience necessary! Mindful photography is not about the tech of capturing a “perfect” photo. It’s about the process of looking and seeing differently\, with curiosity\, compassion\, and gratitude. All you need is a fully charged cell phone and an open mind. \n  \nRegister\n  \nThis program is part of the Nature Rx program. For more details on the program\, please visit www.forcvnp.org/naturerx. \n  \nAdditional Event Details \n  \nParking/Directions: \nParking is available at the Oxbow Meadows Project Site\, located at 5555 Akron-Peninsula Rd. in Peninsula. If coming from Rt. 303\, once you turn onto Akron-Peninsula Road\, the location is just after the hill on your right. \nWhat to wear/bring: \nPlease bring a fully charged cell phone. Mowed paths are primitive. Long pants are recommended. Wear closed-toed\, sturdy shoes (such as hiking shoes or boots) that you do not mind getting dirty if conditions are muddy. \nWeather: \nThis is a rain or shine event\, so please dress accordingly so that you are comfortable. \nCancellation Policy: \nIn the case of severe weather (lightning\, hail\, storms\, etc.) or unforeseen circumstances (staffing\, park closures\, etc.)\, we will cancel or postpone. Participants will be notified of any event changes via email as soon as possible. \n  \n  \n  \n
