SUMMARY:Nature Rx | Reciprocity through Volunteerism
DESCRIPTION:Join Nature Rx and the Volunteer Management Office for Earth Day! \n\n\n\n\nThis Earth Day\, join the Conservancy’s Nature Rx program and Volunteer Management Office for an opportunity to give back and enjoy nature’s benefits through tree planting! \nYou will have the opportunity to plant trees in an area of CVNP not accessible to the public. Upon gathering\, we will take a short walk to the planting site where you will learn about the planting site\, how to safely plant a tree\, and why your help matters. \nTo make the experience even more impactful\, we will be joined by Dr. Joe Blanda\, Nature Rx advisor\, to lead us through a mindful reflection on reciprocity. Come ready to get your hands dirty. Leave feeling connected to the earth and proud of your stewardship. \n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\nRegister\n  \nParking/Directions: Specific location will be emailed to registrants two days before the event. \nAccessibility Note: This event will require walking approx .25 miles. \nWhat to wear/bring: Please wear closed-toed\, sturdy shoes that you do not mind getting dirty if conditions are muddy. Dress for the weather as a portion of this event will take place outside on mostly flat surface. Walking distance will be under one mile. \nWeather: This is a rain or shine event\, so please dress accordingly so that you are comfortable. In the case of severe weather (lightning\, hail\, storms\, etc.) we will cancel or postpone. Participants will be notified of any event changes via email. \n  \nThis event is part of the Nature Rx program. For more details on the program\, please visit www.forcvnp.org/naturerx. \n  \nABOUT JOE BLANDA \nJoseph Blanda\, MD is a recently retired physician who used Nature prescriptions on his patients throughout his 35 year career as an orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Blanda helped the Conservancy develop the NatureRx program. In addition to being past board member for the Conservancy for the CVNP\, he is on the advisory board for the Trust for Public Land and Stewarts Caring Place. He also leads programs and gives presentations at cancer centers and conservation centers throughout the country.
