SUMMARY:Nature Rx | Moss & MELT Method Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Explore the connections between moss and the body through a MELT Method workshop guided by Maryann Wohlwend. \n\n\n\n\nInspired by Robin Wall Kimmerer’s Gathering Moss\, this workshop will explore the connections between the human body and nature around us\, specifically\, moss. \nWe will explore these concepts while using the myofascial release technique\, MELT Method\, on your own hands and feet. The foundation for this technique is based on rehydrating fascia\, the connective tissue that science research is just realizing plays a vital role in mobility\, stability\, and performance. When fascia is dehydrated\, joints become achy and stiff like water damned along a river which leads to many of the chronic pain in our bodies. \nCertified MELT Method hand + foot instructor\, Maryann Wohlwend\, will guide participants through a relaxing and rejuvinating morning to help you feel more connected to yourself and nature. \nNo experience necessary! Learn more about Melt Method here: MELT Method \n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\nRegister\n  \nAdditional Event Details \n  \nParking/Directions: Parking is available at the Boston Trailhead (1508 Boston Mills Road\, Peninsula\, Ohio 44264). Once parked\, head left toward the Boston Store and cross the street at the crosswalk. We will meet at the Boston Gallery! \nWhat to wear/bring: Please wear comfortable clothing and footwear that is easy to remove (workshop will be done barefoot).Bring a yoga mat\, blanket or towel to sit on and a full waterbottle. \nWeather: This is a rain or shine event. In the case of severe weather (lightning\, hail\, storms\, etc.) we will cancel or postpone. \nParticipants will be notified of any event changes via email. \n  \n\n\nAbout Maryann Wohlwend: \nMaryann Wohlwend is an entrepreneur\, educator\, and encourager. She launched Studio121 Wellness to empower others to live well and age gracefully – body\, soul\, and spirit – blending wisdom from ancient cultures to current neuroscience research. Maryann has more than 20 years experience as an art educator teaching studio classes and leading museum tour programs throughout northeast Ohio. She is a trained biblical counselor and a certified Wellness Life Coach\, MELT Method hand+foot instructor\, and Sylvotherapist. \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis event is part of the Nature Rx program. SUMMARY:Opening Reception at The Gallery | Wild Order: Studies in Natural Form
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the opening reception of Wild Order: Studies in Natural Form.  \nNature has long served as a source of observation but Wild Order looks beyond representation to explore the systems\, rhythms\, and material intelligence that shape the living world. Bringing together five contemporary artists working across printmaking\, mixed media\, drawing\, and painting study\, the exhibition examines how organic forms are translated\, reconstructed\, and reimagined through distinct artistic practices. \nRather than depicting nature directly\, the works engage with its underlying logic growth\, repetition\, adaptation\, and balance. Botanical studies\, layered compositions\, relief surfaces\, and three-dimensional painted forms reveal how natural structures can become visual languages\, where observation gives way to interpretation. \nMoving between order and unpredictability\, the exhibition embraces the tension between careful construction and organic evolution. Nature emerges not simply as subject matter\, but as a catalyst for making\, shaping process\, material\, and imagination. \nWild Order invites viewers to slow down and consider how the patterns of the natural world continue to influence the ways artists see\, build\, and transform their surroundings. \nArtists: \nYasmeen Kwan\nPavla Margo\nChristopher Owen Smith\nJuliette Thimmig\nRebekah Wilhelm \nCurator: \nYana Mikho-Misho \nYou can learn more about the artists & curator HERE. \n  \nOPENING RECEPTION \nDate: Saturday\, August 29\, 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm\nLocation: The Boston Gallery | 1565 Boston Mills Rd.\, Peninsula\, OH \n  \nThis exhibition is part of a collaborative partnership between the Conservancy for CVNP and the Museum of Creative Human Art and runs June 27- August 16 (Saturdays & Sundays\, 11:00 am – 3:00 pm). \n  \nGALLERY PARKING & DIRECTIONS \nParking is available at the Boston Trailhead (1508 Boston Mills Road\, Peninsula\, Ohio 44264).
