SUMMARY:Nature Rx | Water Stories Told Through Mindful Photography
DESCRIPTION:Spend an evening with the Cuyahoga River exploring a mindful\, low-tech approach to photography and nature connection. \n\n\n\n\nA Water Story experience invites you to slow down\, look\, and look again at water and its place in the natural world with fresh eyes. This workshop\, led by Christine Baker\, will provide opportunities discover how water plays a role in our daily lives through: \n\nSenses – exploring and experiencing water through all the senses\nBeauty – seeing and appreciating the beauty of water in its many forms\nEmotion – noticing and welcoming the feelings water inspires in us\n\nDuring the event\, we’ll learn simple techniques to create photos with our cell phone cameras of the colors\, shapes\, textures\, and patterns in nature that we often overlook. We will have time to reflect on our photos and how they help us “write a story” that celebrates water’s place in our lives and the natural world. \nNo previous photography experience necessary! Mindful photography is not about the tech of capturing a “perfect” photo. It’s about the process of looking and seeing differently\, with curiosity\, compassion\, and gratitude. All you need is a fully charged cell phone and an open mind. \n\n\n\n\nThis event is part of the Nature Rx program. For more details on the program\, please visit www.forcvnp.org/naturerx. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nRegister\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAdditional Event Details \nParking/Directions: \nAddress: 5555 Akron-Peninsula Rd.\, Peninsula. The Look Again approach helps people\, organizations\, and communities nurture well-being and resilience by learning to see through key principles of mindfulness — paying attention with intention\, in the present moment\, without judgement. She is part of a global community of well-being practitioners\, coaches and creative professionals who are sharing the impacts of mindful photography in diverse communities and natural environments. \nChristine teaches slow looking and mindful photography throughout Northeast Ohio at nature and contemplative retreat centers and coaches people on developing their own mindful photography practices. She enjoys working with people new to mindfulness as they discover the power of their own curiosity. She finds that creating and holding quiet spaces for reflection and spaciousness allows people to relax\, express themselves\, and discover joy and gratitude for the people and world around us.
