RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM

All the Rivers Run

All the Rivers Run is a residential learning experience that your students will never forget! Correlated to the Common Core and newly revised science and social studies standards, our dynamic environmental education program is designed to complement what students learn in the classroom.

Highlights include:

  • Interdisciplinary, experiential, and place-based learning in the Cuyahoga River watershed.
  • The rivers, ponds, meadows, and forests of Cuyahoga Valley National Park as your students' outdoor classroom.
  • An exploration of themes that include sustainability, human impact on the environment, and the interconnectedness of the natural world.
  • Classic camp activities such as hiking, freshly prepared food, campfires, and songs.

There are two curriculum levels for All the Rivers Run:

  • Level I, which is correlated to standards for grades 4-6
  • Level II, which is correlated to standards for grades 7 & 8

We are also offering two new programs on a limited basis. The curriculum for these programs is also set within the framework of the Cuyahoga Valley watershed and explores the themes of sustainability, human impact on the environment, and interconnectedness of the natural world:

  • Soar into Science: Students engage in citizen science and study local bird populations.
  • Seeds of Learning: Students learn about the farming history of the Cuyahoga Valley and explore the question, "Where does our food come from?" Students learn how their food choices affect their health and the health of their community and the environment.

All programs meet Ohio academic content standards in science, math, language arts, social studies, and the fine arts.

To experience the project-based curriculum effectively, two-night or three-night programs are recommended. For more information or to obtain an application, please email info@forcvnp.org or call 330-657-2796 ext. 100.

The Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park raises funds for scholarships to assist students who could not otherwise afford resident program fees. If you are interested in the Conservancy’s scholarship program, please email info@forcvnp.org or call 330-657-2796 ext. 100.
