Programs in 2017

Learning History Locally for fourth-grade educators | $50
Tuesday, April 4, 1-4 p.m. | Wednesday, April 5, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. | Wednesday, May 17, 4-5:30 p.m.

Learning History Locally explores Ohio history of the Ohio-Erie Canal and the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and their historical and economic significance for the development of Ohio and the nation. This program is offered jointly by the ESC of Cuyahoga County and the Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP). The program is ideal for 4th grade educators developing content knowledge and historical thinking skills to satisfy Ohio’s Social Studies Learning Standards. Participants will be immersed in canal resources and activities, primary source documents, and model curriculum. Curricular units will be showcased in a follow-up session during May. Upon completion of the requirements participants earn one graduate credit courtesy of CVNP. Learn more > 




Latino Earth Partnership | Teachers' Workshop | $100
June 26-30, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. | follow-up session TBA

Join us for a 5-day workshop using the outdoors as an educational tool to learn about native ecosystems and how you can transform your schoolyard into a learning lab all while improving the health of Ohio’s waterways. Fee includes instruction, materials, Latino Earth Partnership K-12 Curriculum Guide, and Project Wild Curriculum Guide. Graduate credits are available for an additional fee. Learn more >
