CVNP Volunteer Recognized Nationally

It is our pleasure to announce that CVNP volunteer, Mike Schnellinger, was selected as the national recipient of the George & Helen Hartzog Individual Volunteer Award!

Mike was recognized for his dedication to the renewal and restoration of the Cuyahoga River. Mike has long been involved in Northeast Ohio’s paddling community and brought his experience to CVNP to help implement the first ever Cuyahoga Valley Volunteer River Patrol program and help organize a multi-agency commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the final burning of the Cuyahoga River.

Mike’s guidance and expertise was instrumental in enhancing the experience for park visitors and played a key role in securing the designation of the water trail. Congratulations Mike!
