Family Hike Series: Welcome to the Watershed

April 8, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

There aren’t many things more enjoyable than spending a beautiful spring day in your National Park!  Come join us with your family and friends for a day of hiking, experiencing the ecosystems on campus, an optional delicious lunch prepared by our culinary team, and a ton of fun. Our family hike series provides a unique opportunity for families to learn about the Cuyahoga watershed while enjoying each other on a healthy day of outdoor fun!

You will spend the morning hiking the trails on the closed campus of the Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center with our experienced field instructors. The meeting location will be emailed after registration. We will be exploring what it means to be in the Cuyahoga River watershed. Bring your cameras as we are sure to see plenty of signs of the biodiversity of CVNP. Soon after our morning exploration, we will take a break for lunch.  Guests will have the option to bring their own lunch to have a relaxing picnic outside on the lawn (or inside our dining hall if the weather is poor) or purchase a handcrafted meal from our culinary team.

For those who are new to hiking or have younger children with them, we will provide an option for a less strenuous route.  This event will be suitable for children aged 5 and up and adults of all hiking abilities.

If you have any questions about this program, please feel free to reach out to the program coordinator, Kevin Gross at kgross@forcvnp.org or 330-657-2769
