Habitat Restoration Drop In – July 19

July 19 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Join Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Summit Metro Parks, Summit Soil and Water Conservation District, and the Summit County Engineer’s Office for a Habitat Restoration drop-in on Saturday, July 19, to improve native habitat! Volunteers will be helping to remove silt fences, hay bale twine, and other assorted construction supplies along the removed portion of Everett Road, behind the scenic Everett Covered Bridge.

Removing the remaining construction infrastructure will bring this restoration project closer to completion and help further re-naturalize this beautiful part of the park. Your efforts will help improve the drainage patterns of Furnace Run tributaries and aid in restoring the landscape for our native plants and wildlife to be reestablished. Drop-ins are a great opportunity for both first-time volunteers and veteran volunteers to get involved in their national park.

You will use hand tools such as shovels and wheelbarrows to remove and transport materials. Suitable for ages 13 and up. Volunteers who are 10-15 years of age must have parent or guardian supervision at the project site. Volunteers who are 16-17 years of age are only required to have a parent or guardian sign their Volunteer Agreement form.

**Advanced registration is required for all individuals. Outdoor work gloves, eye protection, and all necessary tools and supplies will be provided. We will have a water cooler, please bring a refillable water bottle.
