Event Cancelled (updated October 7, 2025):
We’re sorry to share that due to federal government shutdown, the Oct. 8th Low Power Happy Hour: What’s New with Citizen Science is cancelled. Our speaker for the event, park biologist Dr. Mariamar Gutierrez, is a furloughed National Park Service employee and will not be able to speak that evening. Thank you in advance for understanding, and we hope to see you at future events!
____________________________________________________________________________________________
Meet Cuyahoga Valley National Park biologist Dr. Mariamar Gutierrez to learn how citizen science efforts help the park keep track of its natural resources.
The Citizen Science Program at CVNP has a decades-long legacy of volunteers helping biologists monitor everything from bird, bat, and butterfly populations to the impacts of deer browsing on forests in the park.
Join to learn what these efforts have uncovered about CVNP’s ecological recovery and how new technologies and platforms will enhance participation in science.
