Nature Rx | Mindful Photography (New location: Oxbow Meadows Project Site)

Spend a fall morning amongst the turning leaves at the Oxbow Meadows Project Site learning mindful photography with Christine Baker. The Look Again mindful photography method is a simple, low-tech approach that weaves photography, mindfulness, and connection with nature.

During the event, we’ll use our cell phone cameras to create photos of the colors, shapes, textures, and ordinary moments nature shares with us that we often overlook. Exploring the world this way invites us to relax, reframe, and nurture our well-being. What will we see when we slow down, look, and look again at the natural world around us?

No previous photography experience necessary! Mindful photography is not about the tech of capturing a “perfect” photo. It’s about the process of looking and seeing differently, with curiosity, compassion, and gratitude. All you need is a fully charged cell phone and an open mind.

Additional Event Details

Parking/Directions:

Parking is available at the Oxbow Meadows Project Site, located at 5555 Akron-Peninsula Rd. in Peninsula. If coming from Rt. 303, once you turn onto Akron-Peninsula Road, the location is just after the hill on your right.

What to wear/bring:

Please bring a fully charged cell phone. Mowed paths are primitive. Long pants are recommended. Wear closed-toed, sturdy shoes (such as hiking shoes or boots) that you do not mind getting dirty if conditions are muddy.

Weather:

This is a rain or shine event, so please dress accordingly so that you are comfortable.

Cancellation Policy:

In the case of severe weather (lightning, hail, storms, etc.) or unforeseen circumstances (staffing, park closures, etc.), we will cancel or postpone. Participants will be notified of any event changes via email as soon as possible.
