Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist Program Open House

Do you have a passion for the natural world and for sharing it with others? Join us for an open house to learn about becoming an Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist. Applications for the OCVN program will be available.

Doors open at 6:30 pm, program begins at 7 pm.

OCVN Program

The OCVN program offers 40 hours of combined classroom and field instruction by experts in science and natural history. Participants receive certification upon completion of 40 hours of approved volunteer work. This program is presented in cooperation with The Ohio State University, Summit County Extension. Open house is free; registration fee (listed below) is due when selected into this program. OCVN applications will be available at the open house, and applicants will be notified of acceptance into the program in early February 2018. OCVN – Schedule and Registration Fee Opening Weekend: Friday, April 5 — Saturday, April 6, Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center. Overnight accommodations and meals provided.
Tentative Class Schedule: Saturdays, April – May 2018. Class dates and times TBD.

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? The OCVN training program is offered to individuals ages 18 and over.

What can I bring into the event? We ask that patrons do not bring food or beverages to this event.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? We accept tickets in the following forms: printed, digital, or confirmation emails. Please make sure to have one of the prior mentioned for ease of entrance.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn’t match the person who attends? This is acceptable as long as the individual attending has a printed ticket, digital ticket, or confirmation email for proof of purchase.
