Put Green in Your Routine: Doc Talk + Hike in CVNP

Join us for our health & wellness program series, Nature Can Heal!
Arrive anytime between 8:30-9:00am to pick-up your Put Green in Your Routine kit and participate in some light exercises. Put Green in Your Routine (PGIYR) kits include a variety of tools to help you in your health & wellness journey.
From 9:00-9:30am, Dr. Kristie Ross will then speak with the group on the topic of healthy sleep!
Dr. Ross is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine at Case Western Reserve University and Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital. Dr. Ross received her undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech, her medical degree from The University of Virginia, and a Masters of Science in Clinical Investigation from Case Western Reserve University. She completed residency in pediatrics, fellowship in pediatric pulmonology, and fellowship in sleep medicine at Case Western Reserve University/Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, where she has been on faculty since 2006. She is the Vice Chair for Affiliate Hospitals, Chief of the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine and Associate Director of the Pediatric Pulmonology Training Program. Her academic interests include health disparities and outcomes in severe asthma and related comorbidities. She serves as a member of the Sub-board for Pediatric Pulmonology of the American Board of Pediatrics, as President of the Pediatric Pulmonary Training Director’s Association (PEPTDA), as in several leadership roles in the Pediatrics Assembly of the American Thoracic Society. Locally, she serves on the Better Health Partnership’s Children’s Health Initiative team and as a Pediatric Asthma content expert.
After Dr. Ross’s talk, we will then set out on a hike to get started on the Find Your 5K challenge, where participants hike different CVNP trails to achieve a total of five kilometers. Staff will guide you in different exercises along the trail, utilizing the tools found in your PGIYR kit.
*Family-friendly, recommended ages 9+
*Tickets are $35.00 per person, $30 per person for Conservancy Members, and include the doctor talk, PGIYR kit, and guided hike.
*If you would like to purchase a ticket for a child to attend the event WITHOUT the PGIYR kit, they are $15 per child, or $10.00 per child for Conservancy Members.
*If you would like to purchase extra PGIYR kits, they are $20 each.
**Per federal COVID guidelines, all individuals must wear face coverings in federal buildings and whenever physical distancing cannot be maintained outside. Please be sure to bring a mask and be prepared to wear it. We will provide face coverings and hand sanitizer to those that need it.
