2020 Holiday Gift Guide

Rock your holiday shopping this year! Many of us spent more time in CVNP this year than we have in the past few years combined. Now is your chance to support Cuyahoga Valley National Park while checking items off your holiday list. By shopping through the Conservancy’s online store or at Trail Mix Peninsula, you’re supporting local small businesses & artists—plus, proceeds support CVNP programs!

This year, we asked Conservancy staff members what their favorite Trail Mix items are to help you find the best gifts for your friends and family. See what they had to say below!

Enjoy a Family Night In

“We love working on our National Parks Jigsaw Puzzle for the challenge and as a reminder of the great parks we have yet to visit,” shares Conservancy COO Janice.

“I gifted the Charlie Harper bird matching game to my mom a few Christmases back,” shares Conservancy Administrative Services and HR Manager Sophie. “Memory games are hard to find in stores, especially ones for grown-ups. I was so excited when I saw Trail Mix had this game. It’s become a tradition to play this game every holiday season!”

Bring CVNP Home

“Every year I look forward to the CVNP calendar,” shares Conservancy Director of Park Engagement Lindsay. “It reminds me of how beautiful our park is when I can’t be there.”

Cuyahoga Valley National Park: A Photographic Portrait makes a great gift,” recommends Conservancy Retail Manager Tracy. “It’s a nice coffee table book and brings a lot of cheer to anyone flipping through the stunning images.”

“The Alphabet Express puzzle is a big hit at our home,” says Development Director Dan. “It has it all – trains, animals, letters!”

“I bought my friends’ little one the Born to Be Wild Tee, a fox plush toy and a book,” shares Conservancy Marketing Coordinator Natalie. “They carry the fox with them everywhere!”

Spice Up Your Kitchen

“There are so many gift options available at Trail Mix, but one of my favorite items for any occasion is a small batch, local food gift,” shares Conservancy Accounting Manager Nikki. “From honey and jam to hot sauce, you have an option for anyone you are shopping for. Don’t forget to treat yourself to some chocolate or ice cream, too!”

“I have two favorites that often end up on my Trail Mix receipts —the stellar Brussels sprout relish, and those adorable birds that Debra Bures crafts,” Conservancy Administrative Services Director Sarah mentions. “They make great gifts, but I admit more often they are gifts-to-self!”

Send CVNP to a Loved One

“When my brother moved out-of-state, I sent him a CVNP care package to remind him of home,” shares Conservancy Marketing Director Lexi. “He wears his CVNP buff & t-shirt whenever he hikes through other national parks.”

“My young adult children have all left Ohio, so I like to send them little reminders of home for the holidays,” Conservancy CEO Deb Yandala shares. “I love getting photos of them proudly wearing their CVNP hoodies in other national parks near their homes in Denver and Seattle!”
