Get the Cuyahoga Valley License Plate

The Cuyahoga Valley license plate is here! Celebrate the 2016 National Park Service Centennial by purchasing your plate today. 

The specialty plate featuring Blue Hen Falls costs $35 your first year (then $25 annually after that); $15 from each plate goes to the Conservancy to further its mission of connecting you to your national park & preserving it for future generations. You do not have to wait until your current plates expire to get the Cuyahoga Valley plate.

To get the specialty plate, visit a local BMV location or go online to There, you can renew your vehicle and/or purchase the specialty plate, even outside of your normal registration period. You will not be charged registration fees if you choose not to renew, only a new State License fee and special plate fee (plus a service charge & postage if you choose to purchase online). 

To exchange your current plates online, follow these steps: 

  1. Click here to visit >
  2. Click the box for "Ohio Plates" (Plate Renewal/Replacement/Exchange).
  3. Enter your information for one of the three methods of identification, then click Continue.
  4. Select the plate you want to exchange. 
  5. Under "Do you want to replace/exchange your plate for another?", select Yes, then click Continue
  6. Choose whether you want to be assigned a new plate number, keep your current plate number (extra charge), or get a personalized plate number (extra charge), then select Yes under "Do you want to add a logo to your plate?" 
  7. In the dropdown menu, select CUYAHOGA VALLEY NP, then click Continue and follow the instructions. 

Once you get your new plate, stop by Trail Mix Peninsula to pick up the official license plate frame for Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
